We all know that the apple cider vinegar has an acidic nature, we use it because of it right? Well, this is the reason why Dr. Marrily Opezzo links the apple cider vinegar to tooth enamel problems. First, the acidic nature of the apple cider vinegar will weaken the tooth enamel, next it will erode it, and this might lead to tooth decay. The risks of this happening increase if the person is continuously consuming undiluted apple cider vinegar.

Problems with your Stomach

Dr. Oppezzo explains how the apple cider vinegar has the ability to slow down stomach emptying which in term can lead to vomiting, nausea, bloating and in some cases it can even result in significant and dangerous blood sugar drops. The people that are fighting this condition also known as gastroparesis should put the apple cider vinegar on their list of ingredients that they should be avoiding. There is one small study that shows how apple cider vinegar slows down digestion and lowers the blood sugar. This is helpful if you are a healthy individual trying to lose weight, but it is dangerous for people with diabetes as well as people fighting gastroparesis.

Acid Reflux and Ulcer

Indigestion and nausea are not the only things that can appear if you’re consuming a lot of apple cider vinegar. In fact, continuously drinking apple cider vinegar can also increase the chances of getting stomach ulcers or acid reflux. The journal “Nephron” had one story about a German girl that was drinking a cup of apple cider vinegar each and every day, one day, she got to the hospital with severe cramping in her muscle. Once they conducted the needed researches, they figured that the woman had weakened bones and that now, she was suffering from osteoporosis. The doctors’ beliefs are that the woman’s body tried to neglect the high acidity levels by depleting calcium from her bones.

Lowers the Levels of Potassium

There are dangers of potassium levels dropping dangerously low if you continuously consume a huge amount of apple cider vinegar according to the “WebMD”. And because of the fact that your muscles, as well as your nerves, need lots of potassium in order to function as they should, this could result in even bigger problems. These side effects from consuming lots of apple cider vinegar should also scare even the healthiest of people that are planning to consume apple cider vinegar as part of their diet. But, for those of you that already have some kind of health issues, this could be even more dangerous.

Don’t Mix it With:

One of the drug mixings that are dangerous with apple cider vinegar is digoxin – a heart medication. This is simply because of the fact that this medication can decrease the potassium levels in your body, and when combined with apple cider vinegar this decrease might be unsafe for your body! Also, don’t mix apple cider vinegar with insulin and diuretics because this can also affect the potassium levels in your body. Make sure that you consult your doctor before doing anything combining these medications with apple cider vinegar.
