Negative: It Makes your Kids Image Obsessed
Kids these days are constantly bombarded with problems, and social media like Instagram that promote image and looks aren’t helping with this at all! And, what we should strive to do, is try and slowly lead our children out of that path. Getting your kids to workout can be risky because of the fact that this has the ability to make them obsessed with how they look. So, if you want your children to workout, make sure that you’re careful with encouraging them.
Positive: Increased Discipline and Commitment
Here’s another positive from making your kids exercise. Namely, workouts help your children build their endurance as well as increase their discipline and commitment. These two things are going to play a crucial role in your children’s future lives. Setting goals and accomplishing them is another trait that working out can bring to your kids.
Negative: There are Better Options than the Gym
So, let’s put it simply. The benefits that your kids can get from exercising in the gym are easily acquired by simply doing other activities. The first, and best example of this is playing sports. This is also better for your overall health because of the negative impact that too much gym workout can have on your kids. There are tons of other ways that you can get the same benefits that your kids get from working out. The only thing left for you to do is find different ways to achieve this.
As we said before, there are both positive and negative reasons for getting your children to work out. And, the only person that can decide whether it is good or bad is you. The fact of the matter is that there are tons of ways of achieving this goal, and which solution you will choose is totally up to you.
